I wanted to turn my on and off freelance jobs to a design practice. I built on my passion for design and structure, affinity to building relationships and a serious approach to constantly developing the business, which I satisfied by reading everything I could get my hands on about design and the business of design.

2002 Xina - Web Development

The internet was taking shape in the Arab world and I was fascinated with animation, so I partnered with a friend to start an advanced web design company. I built a team of unusual talented people who love technology, appreciate design and come from different backgrounds.

We were acquired by Spacetoon Media Group in 2003 and I was offered a position in their Dubai office.

2003 Spacetoon Media Group - Media

Creative Marketing Consultant

Spearheaded the building and branding of 8 media companies for the group and helped shape the planned amusement park in Dubai Land.

2004 ibe - Creative Consultancy

Director/Senior Creative Consultant 

I found myself surrounded with creative people who are struggling to turn their ideas into sustained businesses and viable investments, so I started ibe “inspiration beyond expectation” as the first integrated creative consultancy in DIFC to help creative people take their ideas to market.

By 2006 Creativearab, one of our own projects, was taking shape and we decided to focus on it.

2006 Creativearab - Arab Art Online

Director

An ambitious project that brought together 1200 Arab artist to the first and largest portal for Arab art in the world.

In 2007 Tharaa Holding acquired the business.

2007 Rich Art - Boutique Design

A boutique design house, with focus on visual branding.

We grew the team from only me to a 5 team members and took on large scale prestigious projects.

I grew up in Damascus, Syria in a family of writers, poets and creative people involved in publishing, media, film and TV.

I chose to study engineering instead of arts because I loved computers... I didn’t see a computer till 4th year!

By the time I graduated, I had my own business in marketing and advertising.

It wasn’t until 2009 that all of the things I’m passionate about came under the banner of branding and communication writing.

Never thought of writing as a business, I’ve been writing for 20 years and it came naturally to me, I felt the time was right and so in 2009 I co-founded TheContentPeople.
